About the Gatehouse Recordings...
In 2019 and 2020, I lived with Juliet in the Gatehouse - a tiny house on a tiny river in the middle of Dublin city.
My band had broken up, and I spent a lot of time in that house learning how to record myself and produce tracks with simple gear – a couple of mics, a laptop and my instruments.
We spent much of 2020 isolating in that house, and the songs I recorded there have become an important part of my story...
The Train , my first ever solo release, quickly racked up over 100,000 streams on Spotify - and briefly got me booked to play a big festival in India, before a certain lockdown dashed those plans... 🚂
Where You Go, Night Moves and New Love all made appearances on my Live at Workmans EP... Now you can enjoy them in all their original, fully-produced glory! (I especially recommend Cormac Feeley's scintillating guitar solo on New Love 🎸💙)
In the Winter was the start of my collaborations with the wonderful Amy Ellen, which continue to this day! I'll actually be 'launching' this collection at a double-headline with her in Dublin, just a few weeks away 🎉
Violet Rainbow has become a staple of my live shows - and nearly made me sick when I ate too many Skittles for the music video 😅🌈
And no spoilers, but I've also thrown in a bonus track from my old band The False and the Fair... one of our absolute best 🤘
None of these recordings have EVER been available in a physical format before!
